Scar camouflage can make a suitable pale or colour-different scar less visually obvious by blending its colour more closely with the surrounding skin. The underlying texture remains, but reducing contrast may help you feel less conscious of the area.
Katy assesses the scar’s maturity, stability, colour, texture, location and previous treatment before custom mixing pigment. A small test area or staged colour plan may be recommended because scar tissue and normal skin can hold colour differently.

What does scar camouflage do?
It places carefully selected pigment into suitable mature scar tissue to reduce colour contrast with surrounding skin. It does not remove the scar or change its underlying texture.
How old must a scar be?
There is no safe answer based only on months. The scar must be fully healed, stable, flat enough for treatment and free of active redness or change. Medical clearance may be required.
Can every scar be camouflaged?
No. Raised, unstable, highly textured, actively changing, poorly healed or strongly pigmented scars may be unsuitable. Another treatment or medical review may be recommended.
Will the colour match perfectly?
Exact permanent matching cannot be guaranteed because skin colour changes with circulation, sun and time while tattoo pigment heals and fades differently. Staged colour work or a test area may be safer.
Does camouflage need maintenance?
Yes, it can. Pigment fades and skin tone changes, so future colour refreshment may be required. Timing varies considerably.
